• Mental Health Support Group 'Talking Circle'

(Females only) for now. Our Punjabi Mental Health Support Groups provide empathy, acceptance and reassurance from peers in a non-judgemental way which helps to normalise experiences and reduce stigma. They provide a listening ear, practical help, friendship and social support, that makes coping with life’s challenges that bit easier. Information and knowledge gained in the group empowers members, builds self-confidence and enables individuals to become more engaged in issues of care and treatment.

    About the host organisation

    Hosted by: Awakening Minds
    Organisation Profile:

Awakening Minds is a non-profit community interest group founded in 2016 within Rochdale, one of the most deprived boroughs within the UK. We provide Punjabi Mental Health services to educate individuals and families with the tools to recognise and deal with the underlying issues associated with ill Mental Health in a culturally appropriate manner. We aim to improve the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual well being of marginalised women who are struggling to effectively make use of current services due to cultural and linguistic barriers. We provide holistic therapy, counselling services and educational sessions to encourage reserved and isolated women to build their ability to acknowledge, accept and overcome their problems.
