My session holds space for those to receive the healing and be held in a space safe to release this emotional baggage no matter what there are holding on too. |
Bloom Music Community CIC | £1,161.60 | In September 2024, we will be launching our first musical groups which will include three brass bands, ranging from beginner to intermediate, plus a gospel and soul choir which is open to all. In 2025, we will be launching a big band which will open even more musical opportunities in a completely different genre. To enable us to offer these groups, we are looking for funding to purchase equipment, including cornet mutes, percussion and storage. This equipment is essential to our organisation, and ensuring we offer the necessary tools to allow our musicians to progress to the best of their ability. |
BOLD Building Our Local Democracy | £1,200.00 | We are currently collaborating with a community group called Friends of Borrowdale Park to preserve an area of green space which has been used by the local people for generations for recreational purposes. We have begun a process to acquire this site to preserve it for the local community and wildlife by firstly applying for its registration as an asset of community value by Rochdale Council. A micro grant would enable us to promote the project to a wider audience to gain more interest and support |
Creativity Box CIC | £1,200.00 | We would like to expand the successful Born to Read Book Club project, which has been running for the past six months in Oldham, to Planet Mercy in Rochdale, addressing the literacy gap and associated health inequalities among marginalised families with young children. Our project will utilise a combination of storytelling, craft activities, and social interaction to create a fun and engaging experience for families. |
Healing Humanity HMR | £1,000.00 | Many people in the area are still isolated, elderly or disabled and unable to get out of the home. The aim of this project is to help these people to get out and join in a Christmas Lunch that will benefit them by coming together with others. We aim to give them a three course meal with entertainment and provide a gift for them to take away. There will be no charge to these people as we are very aware that funds are tight this year especially with the cuts for allowances. |
Masking in the Middle | £1,200.00 | From the demand at these taster sessions and speaking to children and parents during our test phase we are now confident that we need to continue with our work and sessions. Masking in the Middle is specifically for children and young people with high-functioning autism who do not receive an Education, Health, and Care (EHA) Plan from Rochdale Council. Many of these individuals ‘mask’ their condition to fit in, which can have long-term effects on their mental health. We hope to achieve this over a 15-week period using a new venue of Thrum Hall Methodist church. The sessions will take place on a Tuesday evening 6– 8pm each week. We will have a quiet area for art and crafts and jewellery making which has proven popular. We will continue to provide refreshments for parent and child. We hope to be able to do some baking activities and sports activities. |
Rochdale Unitarian Church | £1,200.00 | We are applying for funding to enable us to offer affordable, sociable, low intensity exercise sessions each week, suitable for those new to exercise and those at risk of social isolation and poor health outcomes in the local area. Our building offers a warm, accessible safe-space in which to deliver Clover Street Community Zumba sessions. |
St Thomas Church Kirkholt | £1,000.00 | Give children the opportunity receive help with school work in order to catch up with school work including time lost through the covid school closures. We provide assistance through use of computer programs, eg Bitesize, help with homework projects from our qualified teachers and educational games- English and Maths. |
The Hygge Hub Wellness Centre CIC | £1,200.00 | I currently run a free support group for parents who have suffered from baby loss. I would love to advertise the group more effectively and reach as many parents as possible so part of the funding would be used to get some leaflets professionally printed to put in my shop and distribute around the local area. I would also like to have a website created that will help to advertise the company as a whole, and inform the community of all the events and groups that we are running at The Hygge Hub Wellness Centre. The funding would cover having a website professionally built. |

Andalucia Learning Centre | £1,000 | Six creative craft sessions using a Cricut machine and heat press to be able to design and make canvas bags. We will also learn to mix essential oils in droppers as these are very good for various wellbeing needs, they are relaxing and calming to use. We would like to explore many other crafts like soap making and soap wrapping too. Andalucia holds many skills in crafts and unique arts and we also specialise in mosaic arts. We hoping to blend these arts to create exciting sessions that will benefit and attract many women in the community. |
Colourful Minds | £1,190 | To provide a day out for parents/carers of children with additional needs, and also so the children can be all together and gain knowledge and friendships with like-minded people. We will meet at Lancaster Park and Animal Farm on 6th August. The farm will be solely for our children’s use for a few hours so they feel safe. They can interact with the children and have fun in the play area with like-minded children. |
Darnhill Community Cafe | £990 | Darnhill Café have worked with Rochdale Borough Council Libraries to build two new office spaces in the library which can be used to book for meetings, and for members of the community to hold private meetings. The offices are close to being finished so we would like to use the awarded funding to purchase furniture for the office spaces to create welcoming spaces where people can discuss their health, anti-social issues, benefit problems and much more. |
Endometriosis Awareness North | £1,000 | We are applying for further funding to continue our journey to help raise awareness in the Rochdale borough. As a new group we are still building up our financial resources, and we would like to apply for funding to:
|
Healing Humanity HMR | £1,200 | We befriend clients either by visiting in the home, or by taking them out to community groups. As a relatively new charity we only have 10 volunteers to assist us to deliver our plans. We are currently supporting 20 clients in the area on a week-by-week basis. This is the ongoing work that we are doing to support those in isolation, unable to leave the house, disabled or new to area. We now want to put on a summer event for the same cohort of approximately 50 people, where we will provide an afternoon tea, entertainment and transport. We also need support for home visits prior to the event to reassure our clients that they will be supported to attend. |
Kat's Dance Events and Community Team | £1,200 | We would use the grant towards paying for updating, and additional, training for the volunteers within our organisation. We are looking for and requesting quotes for certified training packages for, first aid training, paediatric first aid training and Epilepsy awareness training, for a volunteer group of ten people. Any onsite training will be done as a group, with any online training to be done by volunteers in their own time, with all due dates for completion met. The first aid and paediatric first aid will be the prioritised training and, depending on costs of these, any remaining amounts will go to our epilepsy awareness training. Any excess amount will be covered by ourselves. |
Rochdale Masters | £900 | |
Rochdalian Women's Enterprise | £1,166 | We want to use this funding to offer a series of Holistic Therapy taster sessions for women. These include meditation, aromatherapy, deep tissue massage, hot stone massage, head massage and hand massage. These sessions will run for 1 hour per week for 12 weeks, and will take place at Kashmir Youth Project. Each week we will offer a different Holistic Therapy and we will produce a timetable with all the date/time information. We expect the sessions to be very popular so will introduce a basic booking system. Each session will be a maximum of 8 women. |
