Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support young activists, campaigners, disrupters, co-operates, and social entrepreneurs to lead social action to improve their communities and deliver on Co-op’s vision of ‘Co-operating for a Fairer World’ to create safer, more sustainable, and more inclusive places to live.
Who can apply? Groups or organisations with an annual income of less than £100,000 that wish to deliver youth-led projects and activities can apply.
To apply, groups meet at least one of the following priorities:
- Safe communities.
- Sustainable communities.
- Diverse, equitable, and inclusive communities.
- Communities that prioritise youth activism, shared power, and transparent governance.
For round two, preference will be given to applications from organisations that:
- Demonstrate that 75% of their leadership are young people aged between 10 and 25.
- Build community cohesion and bring people together.
- Design and test new and innovative approaches to established challenges
- Are targeted at young people who have experience of:
- The criminal justice system.
- Barriers to accessing education.
- Living in rural/isolated communities.
- Living in coastal towns and communities.
- Seeking asylum, being a refugee.
- Social and financial barriers to accessing opportunities.
Partnership applications are welcome to apply.
Grant amount: One-year grants of between £1,000 and £20,000 are available.
Application process: There is a two-stage application process:
- Groups should first go through the online eligibility checker available from the Co-op Foundation website. The deadline to complete an eligibility quiz is 4 December 2024.
- Successful applicants will then be invited to complete a full application. The deadline to submit a full application is 6 December 2024.
Applicants will be notified of any decisions made in February 2025.
