We are looking for people who can drive and have the drive to make a difference! We need volunteers in the Bolton and Greater Manchester area to drive the people we support to a variety of places and activities: from school runs to daytrips, from medical appointments to work experience sessions. Leaving us to do what we do best: provide life-changing care!

Key information

  • Start Date: 16th September 2024
  • End Date: 31st December 2025
  • Volunteer: Weekly, Fortnightly
  • Availability: Monday AM, Monday PM, Tuesday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM, Thursday AM, Thursday PM, Friday AM, Friday PM
  • Tasks: As a Volunteer Driver, you will collect a Together Trust vehicle (this could be a regular car, Multi-Purpose Vehicle, or minibus), perform a walkaround vehicle check, and then transport people we support from one location to another. This may include people with disabilities and / or challenging behaviours, but you will receive full training and will always be accompanied by a Passenger Assistant.
  • Training: You will receive full training for this role and regular support from your volunteering supervisor. You will be able to claim back reasonable out-of-pocket expenses related to your volunteering, including travel expenses.

    Training will include:
    • MIDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme)
    • First Aid
    • Safeguarding
  • Requirements: Driving license, Can drive a minibus, Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
