Our charity focuses on cultural integration and awareness on parenting for African families living in Greater Manchester, UK. We advocate for parents and families dealing with care proceedings, provide signposting and referrals to other organizations for support, champion the Answer Cancer initiative, and fight against modern slavery. We strive to support families to the best of our abilities and train professionals to be effective and competent in their roles.

- Tasks: -Cultural Integration and Awareness:
Assist African families in Greater Manchester with integrating into the local community.
Provide guidance and support on parenting within the UK cultural context.
-Advocacy:
Support parents and families involved in care proceedings, ensuring they understand their rights and options.
Act as a liaison between families and relevant authorities or organizations.
-Signposting and Referrals:
Identify and refer families to appropriate organizations for additional support and resources.
Maintain an up-to-date database of local support services and resources.
-Answer Cancer Champion:
Promote cancer awareness and support initiatives within the African community.
Encourage participation in cancer screenings and preventive measures.
-Modern Slavery Awareness:
Educate the community about modern slavery and its indicators.
Support individuals affected by modern slavery and refer them to appropriate services. - Training: Strong understanding of African cultural practices and challenges faced by African families in the UK.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to empathize with families and advocate effectively on their behalf.
Knowledge of local support services and resources available to families.
Commitment to promoting health awareness and fighting against modern slavery.
Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development. - Requirements: Willing to travel by public transport or find own way to volunteering location
