We are an Animal Rescue charity based in Oldham. We have a number of charity shops in and around the area and are seeking hard working and customer-focused individuals to join our team. Our shops are based in Shaw, Hollins and Oldham town centre. As a Volunteer Shop Assistant you will play a vital role in assisting customers and ensuring the smooth operation of our shops. Our shops are central to generating the funds necessary to operate our Animal Rescue Centre so your work will be invaluable in contributing to that.
Requirements:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Well presented and friendly

- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Receive donations from the general public
- Sort through donations and assess their suitability for sale
- Clean and steam items, making sure that they are in the best condition for sale
- Price items and stock shelves ensuring products are properly displayed
- Assist customers with their purchases and process transactions accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor including brushing & mopping
- Work together as a team to provide excellent customer service for our customers - Training: A full training and induction program will be undertaken by each volunteer. This will be provided by an experienced member of our team alongside a Trustee.
