If you own your own car then you could help our clients to get to and from their hospital appointments, as well as to our fun social groups, which you can also come along to! This is more than a taxi service though, as our friendly and committed drivers not only drive behind the wheel they also offer a listening ear to support those affected by life limiting illnesses. You will not be expected to lift any wheelchairs in or out of your car due to our Health and Safety Policy.
It is a very flexible programme. Once you have completed our 2 hr online volunteer training course in 'listening skills' and DBS checks, you can chose the days and hours that suit you, as long as it is between Monday-Fridays, 9am-4pm.
2 hr online volunteer training course in 'Empathic listening skills'
Access to the internet and a smartphone/tablet/laptop required to complete the training
We are looking for volunteers from all walks of life who can demonstrate maturity, sympathy and empathy.
