This is a position providing support feeding, cleaning and caring for our animals. This role is only suitable for those looking to get stuck in, and is perfect for those who want to gain experience working with animals.

- Availability: Monday AM, Monday PM, Tuesday AM, Tuesday PM, Wednesday AM, Wednesday PM, Thursday AM, Thursday PM, Friday AM, Friday PM
- Tasks: ● Help clean out the animal enclosures and maintain a healthy environment.
● Prepare animal enclosures, including food, water and suitable enrichment.
● Contribute to animal health checks and socialisation plans.
● Handle the animals confidently.
● Recognise the signs of stress in the animal you are supporting and identify strategies to reduce their stress.
● Be confident in performing a welfare check on your animal and report any issues noted to staff
● Report any incidents such as nipping, biting toward self, clients or other animals etc.
● Bathe and groom animals and clip nails if required.
● Act as an advocate for an animal that may not be suitable or ready to work in the therapy environment.
● Help maintain animal care records.
● Contribute to decisions about an animals suitability for therapy work and to allocate them into a suitable category - Training: We will provide on the job training, a volunteer induction and access to supervision if needed.
We also provide invaluable training opportunities in a variety of areas with ourselves and other organisations.
We will pay travel expenses and other expenses within reason (to be discussed with a member of staff) - Interests: Animals, Community centre, Customer Services, Disability, Health and wellbeing, Hospices, Hospitals, Mental Health, Older people
