Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to help inactive people become active, or less active people become more active. There is a focus on collaborative working across communities in order to achieve the greatest impact.
Who can apply? The following types of organisation may apply:
- Community amateur sports clubs.
- Unregistered voluntary and community organisations with not-for-profit constitutions.
- Registered charities.
- Not-for-profit companies (limited by guarantee without share capital or charitable incorporated organisations) and without persons of significant control.
- Community interest companies with no persons of significant control, or other social enterprises.
- Community benefit societies.
- Schools using their facilities for wider community benefit.
- Local authority bodies (including town, parish and community councils).
Grant amount: Grants of between £300 and £10,000 are available.

Deadline: Sport England has announced that it will be making some improvements to its funding application system which will make it easier for groups to submit an application and for Sport England to make decisions in a quicker and more efficient manner. During this upgrade, which will take place from 25 August until late September, applications will not be accepted.
Groups that are currently making an application must submit it before 25 August 2022 otherwise they will need to reregister and start their application again once the new system is live in late September.
