Listening to people is the foundation of community organising because it builds trust and relationships, uncovers issues and is an essential starting point for bringing people together to share stories, ideas and action. On this course, you will gain an understanding of why listening is important in community organising and you will develop practical listening skills and tactics and plan a listening campaign.
This introductory session is open to anyone and will provide you with an understanding of the process and impact of trauma and share simple techniques for working in a trauma informed way.
Through this network we can help provide a detailed picture of the health and care needs of the local population, ensure that our service users interests are considered and that our VCFSE member organisations' expertise and diverse experience fully informs commissioning and strategy.

This group aims to bring together groups and organisations who provide welfare advice and support to residents.
An introduction to the basics of safeguarding.
Meet other voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise groups and partners working in the Chadderton and Werneth area. Come and find out what's going on where you live, what funding is available and if you need any advice and information about your group, we can all help and if we cant we know somebody who can.
Aims of the session
•To develop an awareness of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
•To have a clear idea of what to do if you are worried a child is in danger of suffering serious and significant harm
•To give staff and volunteers the opportunity of sharing ideas of best practice for safeguarding children
