Skills Exchange - Hospitality

The Royal Exchange Theatre (RET) is working in partnership with Jigsaw Support to deliver two 6 week courses for young people aged 16-18 living in Tameside who are not in education, employment or training (NEET). In addition to attending one of the courses, you will be allocated a Motiv8 keyworker who will provide bespoke 1-to-1 support to reduce barriers to employment. There are only 10 places on each course, so we must ensure that learners are able to attend all sessions and engage in project activities appropriately. Eligibility - to take part in the programme you must: Be 16-18 years old Not currently be in Education, Employment or Training Have been legally resident in the UK for at least 3 years Live in Tameside Proof of age, address, and residency in the UK for a minimum of 3 years will be required. Course 1: Hospitality This course will run every Tuesday from 4-6pm for a total of 6 weeks. You must be able to attend every session. The venue is 4C Community Centre (Eclectic Cafe), Taunton Road, Ashton Under Lyne, OL6 9DR. 10 NEET young people will develop their teamwork and customer service skills, gain a certificate in Food Hygiene, and gain hands-on experience working in a café. The course dates are: Tues 29th Oct 4-6pm Tues 5th Nov 4-6pm Tues 12th Nov 4-6pm Tues 19th Nov 4-6pm Tues 26th Nov 4-6pm Tues 3rd Dec 2-6pm - this session will take place at the Royal Exchange Theatre and participants will then have the opportunity to attend a show in the evening. Transport will be provided to & from this session.
