• Monthly WOW Wednesday

    The last Wednesday of each month The WoW Project meet 7pm until 9pm at The Red Lion Inn, Whitworth Square. This is a free Chatty Cafe style informative gathering. We have guest speakers, fundraising opportunities for our chosen charities, an opportunity for peer support and to get information, advice or signposting that may be needed. This is a safe space for women and young girls to come and connect with others to reduce lonliness and isolation and build friendships.

    The Women of Whitworth Project was founded to commemorate 100 years of Women’s Voting Rights, to acknowledge the outstanding work of females in the local Community that go above and beyond. They cover Whitworth, Rossendale and Rochdale.
    They have organised a number of fundraising events, awards ceremonies, community projects, Chatty Cafes, Wellbeing Weekends, training opportunities, food support alongside helping women with health and wellbeing.

    The aims of The WOW Project are:
    • To recognise the achievements of women
