About the host organisation
Hosted by: Deaf RhinosOrganisation Profile:We are an organization run by and catering for deaf and hearing impaired people, based in Rochdale, but have members from Oldham, Tameside, Bury and whole of Greater Manchester. We carry out activities and organize events to tackle social exclusion within the deaf community. We have over 40 active members. We have a deaf football team which plays in the Lancashire FA Ability Count League, every first Saturday morning of each month. We have free football coaching session for deaf and hearing impaired people at Hopwood Hall Sports Park in Middleton every Friday evenings. We organize talks and group sessions at Wardleworth Community Centre in Rochdale to promote deaf awareness and tackle issues affecting the deaf community like improving skills and finding employment, Saturday and Sundays. We promote British Sign Language courses for hearing members of the organization who volunteer for us to tackle the communication barrier between hearing and deaf people.
