    Barnardo's Rochdale Services works in partnership with Rochdale borough council to provide a range of borough-wide services for children and young people. Disabled and non disabled children/young people have the right to have shared experiences and opportunities to ensure everyone is included and actively participates in everyday life. Barnardo's Rochdale Services works in partnership with Rochdale borough council to provide a range of borough-wide services for children and young people. The Service offers support and assistance to disabled children and young people (pre-birth to 25 years old) and their families. The service enables the children/young people to have experiences and opportunities that promote their rights and participation in everyday life Rochdale SENDIASS: Rochdale Sendiass. This service provides: Rights and participation : Encouraging individuals and families to participate in community development activities.Sendiass (Special Educational Needs Disability Information Advice Support Service) provides free impartial information, advice and support to disabled children and young people aged 0-25, and those with SEN, through their parents and carers. Young people aged 16+ can have support in their own right. We can provide advice on the Special Educational Needs (SEN) systems, processes and code of practice, SEN provision in schools, the statutory assessment process and My Plan (Education, Health and Care Plans). We can also support with matters relating to annual reviews, transitions, transport, specialist provision/support services, local policies. If required we can provide information regarding disagreement resolution services and appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal (SENDIST).

    Barnardo's is a national children's charity that delivers local services. In Rochdale our services support disabled children, children with individual needs aged 0-25 and their families through a range of groups and 1:1 support. We have SENDiass - Special Educational Needs & Disability Information, Advice and Support Service. We also have the young parent service based at Gabriel Court, this is an accommodation and support service for young women aged 16-21 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, who are either pregnant or have a young baby under 12 months at referral.
