    WAD has been a registered charity based in Tameside for nearly 12 years, however has been supporting local BME communities for over 15 years. We are a 'small charity with a big heart' We have supported a number of activities and projects during this time for the benefit of the African, Refugee and Asylum seeking Community to feel intergrated with the wider community in Tameside and Greater Manchester. The organisation has provided a number of services supporting social and recreational benefit of improving health and well being to improve the lives and increase the education, knowledge and skills of the local community. WAD has provided an increase in awareness of African heritage which laid the foundations to working with local schools and colleges and improved community cohesion and social belonging by improving understanding. We have supported volunteers to gain experience and skills which have supported some of them to gain meaningful employment. We are a BAME organisation lead by BAME community members.
