Leadership Development Programme
- Are you new to a leadership role, or would you like to become a leader in the future?
- Can you commit to at least 6 online training sessions January- March 2025?
You don’t have to manage staff or large budgets, maybe you just have the desire to make a change, but don’t have the confidence.
Places are limited, and due to the volume of interest, the closing date for applications is 15th November. We'll let you know the outcome of your application by 20th November.
The programme will consist of six online workshops, covering topics such as
- How do we become leaders, emotional intelligence and dealing with imposter syndrome
- Leadership styles and leading through change.
- Commercial Awareness and Business Development
- Strategic thinking
As a group, you’ll also identify two further topics from the following list, or other areas identified in the first 4 sessions.
- Communication skills
- Influencing and impacting skills
- Identifying barriers
- Introduction to coaching
The sessions will take place online on the following dates:
Tuesday mornings starting 9.30-12.30 21st January, then at the same time on 4th Feb, 18th Feb, 4th March, 18th March & 1st April
Participants will also be offered the opportunity to take part in 2-hour ‘action learning sets’ at the beginning, middle and end of the programme, to explore your current leadership challenges.
Those who successfully complete the programme will also be offered one-to-one coaching sessions on completion, to support them in developing further the themes and issues identified during the programme.
The programme will be delivered for Action Together by independent consultant, Dave Packwood.
Dave has a BA in Youth and Community Work, a Diploma in Management Studies and an MA in Youth Work Management and has worked in children, young people and family services now for over 30 years
He was Chief Executive of a Regional Youth Charity for 12 years, while also undertaking secondments with Cheshire County Council Children’s Services and Warrington Borough Council Children’s Services as a voluntary sector advisor.
He’s also been an Advisor in Government Office Northwest and an OFSTED Inspector undertaking 6 Enhanced Youth Inspections and Joint Area Reviews.
He has also been an External Examiner (BA Youth Work) for YMCA George Williams College and Chester University. Dave is a qualified Executive Coach and provides coaching for CEO’s and Senior Managers.
In 2011, he set up Dave Packwood Consultancy Limited and has provided management consultancy, training and organisational development for a wide range of clients including Lloyds Foundation, Children England, NCVO, NYA, Voluntary Sector North West, MACC and a number of Manchester-based organisations and charities.
Dave is a grant assessor for Children in Need and Cheshire Community Foundation and facilitates the NW Peer Forum for Lloyds Foundation.
