#WednesdaysWeekly - Census 2021
We will all soon be asked to take part in Census2021. The census is a survey that takes place every 10 years. It gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales and helps to build a detailed snapshot of our society. Information from the census helps the government and local authorities to plan and fund local services, such as education, doctors’ surgeries and roads.
Census date is March 21st 2021 . It will be the first predominantly online census, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets.
We will be joined by Census 2021 Community Engagement Managers Elaine Boyle (Rochdale), Stephen Kenny (Oldham) and Graham Thomas (Tameside), who welcome you to learn more. The session is for anyone that wants to know more about the Census, how to complete it or ask any questions
The session will cover:
- Brief history of the Census
- What is it and why is it so important?
- The process for acquiring and filling in the form (both digital and paper version)
- What additional help is available and where to get it.
