Aims/priorities: The funding is intended for registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, schools, local authorities and social housing providers for practical projects which help with both people and planet health.
Priority will be given to the regeneration of green spaces for community use, however other examples include:
- Improving green spaces for community activities to improve wellbeing
- Tree planting to improve air quality and biodiversity
- A school wanting to create an outdoor classroom or forest school
- A community group who would like to create an allotment
- A voluntary organisation wanting to install sustainable equipment, such as a heat pump.
This is not an exhaustive list and other project ideas are welcomed.
Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from schools, registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, local authorities and social housing providers.
To be eligible, applicants must be able to provide their governing document which must include a dissolution clause or asset lock.
Organisations that are not a registered organisation (registered charity, registered company, school or a public sector organisation) must be able to provide two forms of ID for their main contact, one for proof of name, the other for proof of address.
Grant amount: Between £500 and £2,500 are available.

Groundwork UK uses Flexi Grant, an online grant management system, which requires applicants to create an account in order to access the application form.
Deadline: Friday 30 June 2023 (12pm). Notification of decisions is expected by Saturday 30 September 2023.
