Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust - Fulfilling Futures Programme

Aims/priorities: The funding is for pilot projects or new approaches. Projects will address the needs of geographically dispersed communities of Veterans affected by a specific issue. They will most likely be run on a national or regional basis or, exceptionally, in densely populated localised areas.

Projects must meet the following outcomes:

  • Veterans’ experiences are acknowledged and understood, enabling them to positively progress on their recovery journey.
  • Veterans’ isolation will be reduced and quality of life improved, through gaining access to effective support.
  • Veterans can build a positive connection within the wider Armed Forces community and access support in the future, should they wish or be able to access other support mechanisms that are most relevant to them.

Who can apply? Applications will be considered from:

  • A charity registered with one or more of the charity commissions for England and Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland for at least three years at the time of their application and able to provide published accounts for all three years if requested.
  • A Community Interest Company (CIC) incorporated in the UK for at least three years and have submitted three years’ of accounts to Companies House at time of application.
  • Local authorities.
  • Statutory organisations.

Charities and CICs which do not have substantial recent experience of working with the  Armed Forces community can apply. However, applicants must be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of the Armed Forces community, or the proposed project must be delivered in partnership with another organisation (or organisations) which do have substantial recent experience of working with Armed Forces communities or which are Armed Forces specific.

Local authorities and other statutory organisations will be expected to work in partnership  with other relevant organisations.

Statutory organisations must show that all proposed activities are additional to their statutory responsibilities. Work must be over and above their existing work to meet the Armed Forces Covenant Duty.

Grant amount: The programme offers the following grants:

  • Grants of between £50,000 and £100,000 for a project of 12-18 months in duration which meets at least one programme outcome.
