Aims/priorities: The Tree Council was founded in 1973 with major support from the then Department of the Environment and in 1978 became an independent registered charity. The Tree Council's aims are to:

Improve the environment in town and country by promoting the planting and conservation of trees and woods throughout the United Kingdom.

Disseminate knowledge about trees and their management.

Act as a forum for organisations concerned with trees, to identify national problems and to provide initiatives for cooperation.

Aims/priorities: Phase 2 is intended to deliver up to 300 youth facilities that:

• Represent positive value for money.
• Are environmentally sustainable.
• Enable positive activities for young people.

Projects must be focused on the delivery of new and renewed youth facilities within a short timescale. Grants could cover:

Aims/priorities: The Media Literacy Programme Fund is a multi-year grant scheme offering funding to organisations undertaking media literacy activity that tackles the challenges set out in the Online Media Literacy Strategy. In year one of the fund, bids are being invited for projects that meet one or more of the following strategic priorities:

Aims/priorities: This fund aims to support UK-based registered charities to deliver projects and activities that make a positive contribution to people’s lives through the arts. Funding will support projects and activities that engage young people in the arts, skills development in the arts and heritage sector, and projects that support local and regional arts organisations and museums.   

Funding is for projects that fall under one or more of the following priorities:

Aims/priorities: Grants are available to support charities, community groups and educational establishments with projects working with displaced children and young people both internationally and in the UK.

Who can apply? Applications are accepted from UK registered charities, not-for-profit community-based organisations, schools, academies, colleges and other educational establishments.

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to support projects which focus on the link between nature and climate and use nature to encourage more community-led climate action.

Who can apply?  Applications will be considered from community-led partnerships that are made up of a mix of organisations from different sectors, either locally or UK-wide partnerships delivered across at least two UK countries.

Both new partnerships and ones that have already been set up are eligible.

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to develop techniques and pathways for meeting veterans’ physical and mental health needs, enabling treatment to be informed by the very latest research and developments in clinical care.

Aims/priorities: The Media Literacy Taskforce Fund is providing funding to organisations piloting new methods of engaging ‘hard to reach’ citizens with media literacy initiatives. Media literacy is described as the ability to apply critical thinking skills to the messages transmitted through mass media, from print, video and the internet.

The scheme will fund pilot projects that will work through communities to engage citizens in ways that are tailored to their needs and relevant to their daily lives, delivering media literacy interventions at a local level.
