The CDL Fund

Aims/priorities: The Fund aims to support the activities of local community or voluntary groups and projects that contribute positively to the quality of life, wellbeing and improved health of people and communities which address any or all of the priorities listed below:

Homelessness Winter Transformation Fund

Aims/priorities: 

The Fund aims to ensure that faith and community groups who provide winter accommodation can this year provide single room COVID-19 secure accommodation, and will also support services that prevent rough sleeping and work with people sleeping rough in innovative ways. These will build on proven approaches such as hosting, shared houses, support working and accessing the private rented sector.

Trusthouse Charitable Foundation

Aims/priorities: Funding is available for revenue costs including core costs, salaries, running and projects costs.  The Trust no longer offers capital grants.

The Trust's preference is to support front line projects working directly with people in need. It will consider new projects which are a logical extension of existing work, but does not support work which represents a significant shift away from an organisation's existing core aims and experience.

Variety Club - Youth Clubs Grant

Aims/priorities: Grants for equipment is available to youth clubs in the UK that provide opportunities for improving social skills, team spirit and self esteem for young people aged from 8 to 18 years.

Occassionally, applications for improvement of youth club premises, equipment and facilities will also be considered including, but not limited to, the following:

Care Home Friends and Neighbours: Intergenerational Linking Project

Aims/priorities: The funding is for intergenerational linking projects that are bringing together in a meaningful way older people who live in care homes with young people aged 5 to 14 years in schools or youth groups.

Projects do not need to work with the full breadth of the 5 to 14 age range, although projects may choose to work across the age spectrum if they wish.

The focus is on reaching young people who are located in less socio economically advantaged areas.

Eligible projects should aim to enable young and older people to:

Isla Foundation – Immediate Impact Grants

Aims/priorities: The Immediate Impact Grant responds to the needs expressed by local communities. These grants are for small-scale, short-term projects.

Examples of projects include (but are not limited to) improving community spaces, encouraging social cohesion through sport, art, community activities, or promoting education, the environment or health in the local community. Grants can also be used to test an idea through a pilot.

Isla Foundation – Tipping Point Grants

Aims/priorities: The Foundation’s focus is on serving grassroots organisations and charities that provide vital help to the most vulnerable in society. The Foundation’s aim is to create maximum positive social impact at a local community level. In addition to providing immediate support through grant-giving, the Foundation looks at how to strengthen organisations and communities with campaigns & advocacy, projects and partnerships.

Tipping Point grants are intended for longer-term projects and this year the grants are focused specifically on homelessness.

CAF Resilience Fund

Aims/priorities: The funding for the CAF Resilience Fund has been provided by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), as part of its Community Match Challenge funding scheme, and kindly matched by the Covid-19 Support Fund, created by the insurance and long-term savings industry.

British Cycling Places to Ride Programme

****Due to a surge in interest, the fund will close to new Stage 1 applications for both large and small grants on Monday 16 November 2020. The fund was due to close in January 2021.

Aims/priorities: Grants are available for organisations that are developing cycling activity in their community for the development of new, or the improvement of existing, cycling facilities in communities. The key objectives of the programme are to:
