Free SIM cards for young people

The Prince's Trust and Vodafone partnership are supplying SIM cards that will support young people in Greater Manchester to stay connected and help them progress into employment, education or training.

The SIMs contain 20GB of mobile data, unlimited calls and texts every month for six months.

To be eligible the young person must be:

  • Not in education, training, or employment
  • Aged 18-25
  • Living in Greater Manchester

If you are supporting a young person who meets the criteria, you just need to do two things:

Arts Council England - National Portfolio Organisations 2023-26

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to help Arts Council England realise its 10-year strategy (2020-2030), Let's Create and its vision: 'By 2030, England will be a country in which the creativity of each of us is valued and given the chance to flourish and where everyone has access to a remarkable range of high-quality cultural experiences'

The strategy is built around three outcomes, each with their own elements:

Creative people:

UK Youth Fund – Thriving Minds

Aims/priorities: The Fund aims to improve mental health support and provisions for young people and youth workers. The funding is intended to ensure organisations have the resources needed to properly engage with the Thriving Minds programme and implement and instigate learnings to improve their mental health provision. 

Funding will support projects that demonstrate commitment towards the following key outcomes:

Historic England - Everyday Heritage Grants: Celebrating Working Class Heritage

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to support diverse projects, heritage and stories which may have been previously overlooked, with a particular focus on the everyday lives of working people and communities. Projects should engage with a wide range of heritage and enable people to creatively share overlooked or untold stories of their communities.

Holiday Activity Fund (HAF) - Rochdale borough

Aims/priorities:

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme is a government initiative that aims to provide healthy hot food and enriching activities during the school holidays, primarily to children and young people aged 5 to 16 who are eligible for benefits related free school meals. It is funded by the Department for Education (DfE). The aim is for children and young people to socialise, learn and play during the specified holiday periods, enjoy a hot meal and have fun.

Joseph Strong Frazer Trust

Aims/priorities: The scheme aims to fund a wide range of charitable activities. The Joseph Strong Frazer Trust Grant is provided by Joseph Miller and Co. and is administered by the Joseph Strong Frazer Trust. It is available to registered charities throughout England and Wales.

Who can apply? Registered charities operating in England and Wales. Applicants are advised to contact the Trust to confirm that exclusions do not apply.
