Safeguarding Lead: Hyde Little Theatre

We have an exciting opportunity for a Safeguarding Lead to work with our existing team of volunteers at Hyde Little Theatre. The role exists to ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all people, young or old, who are involved with theatrical performances or other activities at our home, Studio 9. Hyde Little Theatre is well-known for our high quality plays and pantomimes as we've been running since 1967, but we also have a range of other activities each week. These cater for a broad spectrum of local people of all ages and backgrounds, from our 100+ strong Youth Theatre for young people aged 4-18, to baby groups, Pilates, meditation and community lunches. This role would suit someone with a background in child services, teaching or a related area, with existing knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures. However, we can provide support for the right candidate.

About the host organisation

Hosted by: Hyde Little Theatre
Organisation Profile: Hyde Little Theatre (HLT), established in 1967, is a non-profit, amateur theatre organisation based in Hyde, Tameside in Greater Manchester. Each season we produce 3-4 plays and a traditional Christmas pantomime within our local (Hyde) and wider (Tameside) community. We have a fast-growing growing Youth Theatre group of over 100 children and young people aged 4-18, and we provide a range of community activities throughout the year, offering community members the chance to socialise, learn new skills and improve their mental and physical wellbeing. Over 300 people from all sections of our community come through Studio 9’s doors each week.
