Magazine, Media and Advertisement Volunteer

Tameside Stroke Awareness Support Group is a social group for people who have experienced a stroke and for family members, carers and friends of those that have. We meet on a Wednesday at 10:00am-12:00pm in Dukinfield Park at the Pavilion. New members are always welcome. Our aim is to enjoy life and have fun no matter what. The group have a monthly magazine that is filled with poems, puzzles, recipes, stories and information about local activities, events and businesses. The group are in need of content creators for the magazine. If you enjoy writing this role is for you. Volunteers are needed to promote the group via social media too

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

Create content for the magazine. Write poems and stories. Put together crosswords and stories. Share information about Strokes for those having experienced one and also for the family and friends of those that have. Put together recipes and gardening how to guides. Write about Tameside and its history. All ideas are welcome so if you have something you'd like to write about for this magazine bring it to the table.
Volunteers are also needed to help find advertisers to appear in the magazine. This brings in much needed funds to help the group run. This part of the role involves contacting local businesses.
Use social media to promote the group and to encourage new members to join
