Aims/priorities: The object of the Trust is the relief of poverty, hardship or other distress by assisting people in need who are unable to meet the cost of water charges.
This is achieved by providing grants:
- Directly to individuals (further information is available by calling 0300 7906172).
- To organisations to fund money advice/financial literacy projects that encourage financial stability and promote competent money management.
Who can apply? To be eligible, organisations must be:
- A registered charity, voluntary organisation, not-for-profit organisation or public benefit entity.
- Able to deliver services within the United Utilities Trust Fund geographical area (North West England).
Grant amount: Two to three grants up to a maximum of £50,000 over a one-year term are available
Application process: There are two stages to the application process. Applicants will need to complete the Stage One application form to provide details of their organisation and an outline of their project.
All Stage One applications will be individually assessed, and projects considered to have the most merit will be invited to progress to Stage Two.
