FREE training for businesses and organisations from Henshaws.

In August, Henshaws launched an exciting new online learning platform service for business and professionals to access our award winning visual impairment awareness training.

Over 2 million people in the UK are currently living with sight loss, which is expected to rise to 2.9Miliion by 2030, making visual impairment awareness more important than ever before.

Social Enterprise Support Fund

Aims/priorities

The Social Enterprise Support Fund provides essential financial support to help social enterprises in England to rebuild and grow their income from trading, following the impact of COVID-19. 

The Social Enterprise Support Fund is focused on social enterprises supporting people facing increased social and economic challenges as a result of COVID-19. We will support them in evolving and growing sustainable community services, in the face of ongoing disruption from COVID-19.

Ocado Foundation for Good

Aims/priorities

The aim of this fund is to support projects that support skills and education development or promote sustainability in communities across the UK. Funding is for projects that align with the Foundation’s core pillars of corporate responsibility with the aim of supporting 'the many not the few'.

Powering Up

Aims/priorities

The initial phase of the programme focuses on community businesses looking to learn how digital skills could help their business develop and grow. Other support areas will be included in the programme during 2022. The Powering Up programme will run for a total of four years with multiple rounds of funding.

The tailored support package for community businesses is worth up to £20,000 in total, and includes:

Mental Health Sustainability Fund - Bupa Foundation

Aims/priorities: With a generous donation from Bupa Foundation, The Association of Mental Health Providers is proud to administer the first targeted grant-making element within the Mental Health Sustainability Programme; to support organisations who have a helpline element to be positively impacted with regards their sustainability at this stage in England’s pandemic response.

Helpline provison - A service providing non-face-to-face advice, support and information via phone, email, text, SMS or online.

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation

Aims/priorities: The Charitable Foundation makes donations to registered charities, recommended by members and colleagues, who support beneficiaries such as children, those seriously ill, the elderly, homeless and disabled people in the UK. The Foundations can support applications to fund a specific project or items that will have a positive impact to the beneficiaries eg sensory toys for children with special needs, social activities for the vulnerable/isolated elderly or training of charity employees to deliver programmes.

Anton Jurgens Charitable Trust

Aims/priorities: The funding is intended for UK based charities working to help those who are vulnerable in society. The funding is for projects that support socially disadvantaged and disabled people of all ages. 

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • Research.
  • Promotion of religion.
  • Arts and culture (unless these are engaged in the development of therapies).

Who can apply? UK registered charities that are based and working in the UK can apply.

Better Community Business Network Grant Initiative

Aims/priorities: Funding is intended to improve the quality of life and expectations of people and their communities, especially those who come from disadvantaged or socially deprived backgrounds. 

Applicants must be:

  • Addressing a community issue or supporting a local community initiative.
  • Providing benefits to the local population.
  • Able to demonstrate that money awarded will be used for project-specific costs.
