Tesco Bags of Help COVID-19 Communities Fund

Tesco Bags of Help is responding to the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis by setting up a new short-term fund to support local communities. The programme is set up to support organisational need in this time of crisis rather than fund specific projects. Successfuls applications will receive a single payment award of £500 to organisations who are supporting vulnerable groups. Due to the need to respond quickly to the emergency we have created a streamlined application process and payment process to make it easier to get funds distributed quickly.

Action Together is collecting information on new and existing Voluntary, Charity, Faith, and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations and Mutual Aid Groups providing support during COVID-19 to help local people during this Coronavirus crisis. Alpkit - Go Nice Places, Do Good Things Grant

Alpkit are the charity that helps people Go Nice Places, Do Good Things. However, recent global events call for a shift of focus over the coming months. Alpkit are now prioritising funds to support projects that demonstrate an immediate impact on those affected by the Covid-19 virus crisis.

As a community, Alpkit believe they are a resourceful and adventurous bunch and welcome any applications from individuals or organisations serving those affected by coronavirus, across the country.

The National Emergencies Trust (NET)

The National Emergencies Trust (NET) has launched a coronavirus fundraising appeal to raise funds for local charities. The British Red Cross will be managing donations.  NET will award grants and distribute money raised through a number of charitable organisations, for example local community foundations. Partners will work within parameters agreed with NET “to help identify the greatest need and distribute funds with both care and speed wherever possible”.

We are delighted to be able to share that the Charities Aid Foundation, the organisation that leads Giving Tuesday here in the UK, has launched a £5 million Coronavirus Emergency Fund for small charities and organisations as they battle the effects of the coronavirus.

Forever Manchester Community Support Fund

During these uncertain times, we know that grassroot community groups are responding to the impact of Covid-19 through kindness, coming together to help those most affected however they can.
To support these local responses, Forever Manchester is offering awards of up to £5,000.

Community Support Fund Criteria

The Community Support Fund will accept applications from community groups based in any of the ten boroughs of Greater Manchester. We want to fund organisations who are supporting their communities however they can.

Recognise volunteers in the charity sector.

Room to Reward is a unique volunteer-recognition charity created to say ‘thank you’ to the Hidden Heroes – inspirational volunteers who give up their time to make a difference to those who need it most.

Partner hotels donate their unsold rooms, charities and community groups nominate their Hidden Heroes for a break – Room to Reward make it happen!

The charity launched in 2015 and since then some 220 hotels have joined the scheme. It aims to reallocate unsold rooms to "hidden heroes" who work to help others.

The Royal Statistical Society

Many third sector organisations use data and statistics for a wide range of purposes, including measuring impact and outcomes. However, some charities lack people with the appropriate skills and resources for statistical analysis, which could help with making better decisions and informing policy.

The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) can help charities with this, after the National Lottery Community Fund awarded it almost £400k of funding to support its Statisticians for Society project.
