GM VCSE Rep Appointments

Voluntary Sector North West (VSNW) have begun the Rep Appointment process for three current opportunities across Greater Manchester:

  1. NHS GM Tackling Poverty Group
  2. NHS GM People and Culture Committee
  3. NHS GM People and Culture Health and Care Group

Please find below more information about each of the groups and the positions available.

Applications for these opportunities will close at 5pm on Friday 26 July 2024. Members of the GM VCFSE Leadership Group will then be sent an email with EoI’s, and a link to an online voting platform. Voting will close at 5pm on Monday 5 August 2024. Successful applicants will be announced shortly after.


1: NHS GM Tackling Poverty Group

Introduction
As we move forward with our ambitions to tackle poverty as a driver of poor health, we are stepping down the steering group and establishing an NHS GM Tackling Poverty Group to provide direction and oversight. This group will report to the NHS GM Population Health Committee.

Reasons for requesting VCSE participation

  • The VCFSE sector play a critical role in supporting people experiencing financial hardship / poverty.
  • To ensure that that sector is involved in shaping, designing and delivering the NHS GM strategic approach to tackling poverty.

The following person specification applies to the role
The appointed person is required to have expertise in the Greater Manchester Population experiencing poverty and financial hardship.

2: NHS GM People and Culture Committee

Introduction
The People and Culture Committee is established to oversee the implementation of the Greater Manchester People and Culture Strategy for our health and care workforce across a number of levels:

  1. NHS GM as an employing organisation
  2. Our ten localities
  3. Our NHS system
  4. Across our health and care system

The Committee will promote the integration of health and care and champion the advancement of equality. Where appropriate, the Committee will look to promote greater collaboration across our public services to support delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy.

3: NHS GM People and Culture Health and Care Group

Introduction
The GM People and Culture Health and Care Group oversees the implementation of the Greater Manchester People and Culture Strategy and the national NHS Long Term Workforce Plan and People Plan across our integrated care system.

Objectives
The GM People and Culture Health and Care Group is established to promote the integration of health and care and champion the advancement of equality. Where appropriate, the Group will look to promote greater collaboration across our public services to support delivery of the Greater Manchester Strategy.
