We are delighted to share the news that our member organisation, Diversity Matters North West, have successfully achieved Action Together's Quality in Action Award this June after demonstrating excellence in every category of the award.

Co-Chief Executive Rehana Begun said;

“Achieving the award has been great. It has helped the charity evidence quality assurance and ensured we have the correct policies and processes in place to help safeguard our service users, volunteers, staff and the charity.”

The Quality in Action Award is a recognised framework for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations working across Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside to prove their impact. The award is an independent, local seal of approval which publicly demonstrates commitment to safeguarding, quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Diversity Matters North West is an award winning independent local charity working to combat health inequalities and social exclusion and to promote community cohesion. They are based at the Healthy Living Centre in Hyde, Tameside from where they host and co-ordinate regular activities and training for the local community, with the help of their volunteers. Initially set up in 2007 as Hyde Community Action the charity expanded its remit in 2017 and became Diversity Matters North West.

"Diversity Matters North West is one of our valued members and we have worked together in Tameside for many years. Diversity Matters provides a much-needed specialist resource for the South Asian Community in Tameside and works across many of its towns.

Action Together's Social Prescribing service in Tameside connects people with Diversity Matters for support and to access a range of new opportunities including training and employment support. We regularly refer clients to Diversity Matters, as we do not have many other local organisations that work across Tameside that can offer this type of support."  - Liz-Windsor-Welsh, CEO Action Together
