Lankelly Chase Spaces - Greater Manchester Local Fund

Aims/priorities: Grants for community groups and organisations led by marginalised women or marginalised young people to set up independent safe spaces where people can join together to address systems that perpetuate disadvantage, or reimagine new systems for more supportive communities. The objectives of the Local Fund are to:

  • Extend Lankelly Chase's current reach to people and networks across Greater Manchester that it does not currently have deep relationships with. The charity sees an under-representation of marginalised women and young people in its Greater Manchester networks.
  • Connect with people who are interested in exploring the question 'How do we change the systems that perpetuate severe and multiple disadvantage in Greater Manchester?'

Who can apply? Applications will be accepted from charities, community groups, educational institutions, individuals, networks, partnerships or relevant statutory organisations which are led by marginalised women and/or young people. Priority will be given to communities of colour, but not exclusively.

Grant amount: The Spaces fund has a total budget of £250,000 and seeks to support about 30 projects. The following grants are available:

  • Smaller spaces: grants of between £2,000 and £5,000.
  • Larger spaces: grants of between £5,000 and £8,000.

Application process: Full guidance notes and the online application form can be found on the Greater Manchester Systems Changers website.
