Concierge/Housekeepers

Caritas Diocese of Salford is excited to be opening a new supported accommodation project for those who are homeless in Manchester. The new accommodation at Caritas House will offer a pathway out of homelessness for single men with low support needs and it will provide high-quality, single-room accommodation with 24-hour staffing for 19 men. Therefore, we looking to recruit two Concierge/

Housekeepers to ensure a high-quality concierge service, as well as maintaining responsibility for the cleanliness and security of our new accommodation building.

You will provide excellent customer service to residents and be responsible for controlling access to the building and providing the first point of contact. You will be dealing with emergencies, answering telephone calls, conducting building checks and monitoring CCTV to identify any incidents and taking prompt and appropriate action when required. You will also be responsible for cleaning the communal areas, waste management and for cleaning resident rooms when they leave and prepare them for new residents.

You will be required to maintain up to date knowledge of all aspects of safety relevant to this position and undertake health and safety and hygiene training as required.

The hours of the role are Week 1 (33 hours per week), 1 weekday 12:15pm – 21:15pm = 8.5 hours, Saturday and Sunday 9:00am – 21:15pm, 2 x 12.15 hour shifts = 24.5 hours (paid lunch break).

Week 2 (34 hours per week), 4 weekdays 12:15pm – 21:15pm = 4 x 8.5 hours.

Experience of working within a residential setting or similar and interaction with people that are homeless is essential.
