You are invited to attend the Greater Manchester Social Value Network Gathering on Tuesday 10 Sept. It will focus on 'How can we make social value part of everything we do?'

Five years ago, a small group of people with an interest in Greater Manchester, its people and Social Value developed the Greater Manchester Social Value Network (GMSVN). Constituted on a voluntary basis, the Network has sought to draw together the public, commercial and social sectors to put Social Value at the heart of everything which Greater Manchester does.

Since that beginning it has grown as a network and have achieved a lot including: showcasing Social Value practice; developing Social Value training; influencing policy and practice; and creating a movement for social change. However, we have lots more to do to meet our vision of ‘embedding Social Value into everything that Greater Manchester does.’

Therefore, to celebrate its successes, to engage with its network further, and to attract and influence new audiences it would like to invite you to a gathering of GMSVN members and wider stakeholders on the morning of Tuesday 10 September 2019. Kindly hosted by the Co-op Group, at its iconic 1 Angel Square building in city centre Manchester, there will be an opportunity to hear from our keynote speakers, Steve Murrells, CEO of the Co-op, and former Cabinet Minister Hazel Blears and to help us answer the question ‘How can we make social value part of everything we do?’

The Gathering is targeted at:

  • GMSVN Members
  • Political representatives of local authorities in Greater Manchester
  • Those responsible for strategy and policy making across the public sector
  • Private sector business with an interest in enhancing their social value
  • Voluntary, community and social enterprise sector organisations
