Aims/priorities: The CSJ Awards finds the very best grassroot charities and social enterprises from across Britain, gives them £20,000 to scale their impact and puts them in the spotlight for senior politicians, philanthropists and business and charity leaders to be inspired by and learn from. The event is designed to give Award Winners unique opportunities to connect with other people passionate about furthering the cause of social justice in Britain.
Who can apply? Grassroots charities and social enterprises from local communities across Great Britain can apply.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be based in the UK.
- Have an annual income of less than £2 million.
- Be incorporated and registered as a charity or social enterprise or profit with purpose company that has social purpose clearly embedded into its articles via an asset or mission lock.
- Have been operating for at least a year and have at least one set of financial accounts.
- Work within at least one of the main policy areas of the CSJ:
- Work and welfare
- Education
- Debt and financial inclusion
- Modern slavery
- Addiction
- Family
- Criminal justice.
Grant amount: Four winning organisations will each receive a grant of £20,000.
Application process: There are two stages to the application process:
- Stage one - a basic online application form to be completed by all applicants.
- Stage two - shortlisted applicants will be invited to discuss their reach and impact in more depth.
