Save the Children’s Youth Advisory Board are looking for thoughtful, enthusiastic, trailblazing young people to join them.
You can apply if you live in the UK, are aged 12 to 17 and can attend virtual monthly meetings, as well as 3 weekend meetings a year for the next two years.
It's important that what Save the Children do and say represents what young people really care about as our voices deserve to be heard. As a member of the board, you’ll work together and help shape projects across Save the Children’s fundraising, campaigning, media and brand work in the UK.
You don’t need any particular skills or experiences; all you need is passion, ideas and a willingness to learn and work alongside others to make the world better for other children.
To make sure they're representing young people fairly, it’s important that the board is made up of a range of young people from different backgrounds and experiences. They are always keen to receive applications from anyone who is Black, Asian, or from a minority ethnic background, LGBTQ+, disabled, a young carer, or a refugee.
In addition to the above, we’d particularly encourage you to apply if you are:
- Aged 12 – 14
- From working class and/or low-income backgrounds
- From the North of England
As these groups are currently underrepresented on the board.
To apply, Click Here. You’ll be asked to create and account and answer 4 questions, which you can find on our information pack in downloads. They will be reviewing applications from early January and applications will close on Sunday 30th January 2022. They will hold phone and video interviews from late January/early February 2022.
