The purpose of the Group Coordinator is to facilitate a group running in the library by setting up a group and encouraging other members of the community to join in. Groups meeting in the library are free and open to all. Some examples include knitting group, board games group, writing group... If you have an idea for a group you'd like to run in one of our libraries, please get in touch!

- Tasks: The volunteer may do a selection of the following tasks:
• Assist with preparation of materials for the group
• Meet and greet others at group meetings
• Liaise with library staff about the group
• Help members of the public to feel welcome to the group
• Assist with growing the group across different libraries in Tameside.
• Set up tables and equipment for the group
• Tidy up after the group meeting and help return library to its usual layout.
We do not require volunteers to have special skills or experience, but the role would suit someone who is:
• Willing to explore an interest or idea for a group
• Courteous and calm when talking with the public and enjoys dealing with people.
• Punctual, reliable, and approachable.
• Able to spare at least a couple of hours regularly to facilitate the group
• Supportive of the library in its commitment to making resources and events accessible and welcoming.
• Able to work on their own initiative. - Interests: Craft, Libraries
