Are you someone who enjoys being hands-on and staying active? Do you also have an interest in reuse and recycling? Join us as a Volunteer Warehouse Assistant and help us keep things running smoothly across Emmaus Mossley’s social enterprise. We are looking for a volunteer who will commit to at least 1 day per week (10am-4pm). We can be flexible in terms of what day(s) these will be (Monday to Saturday). Even if you are only able to commit to a few weeks or months, we are open to short-term volunteering too.

Assembling and disassembling furniture
Assist customers with large donations
Assisting companions within our warehouse and retail areas
Help ensure and support correct recycling practices
Help to keep warehouse and yard areas safe, clean and tidy
Promote safe working practices including manual handling and use of PPE - Training: As an Emmaus volunteer you will be given a full induction when you start.
A staff member and companion will support you throughout your time as a volunteer.
We will offer you an opportunity to develop your skills and experience for a worthwhile cause.
We will look to provide further training where possible.

Physically fit and able to safely move large furniture items
Previous warehouse experience is desirable
Knowledge of health & safety practices and PPE
Good teamwork and people skills
Highly motivated, enthusiastic and a positive attitude. - Interests: Community, Community centre, Health and safety, Homeless
