Trustee - Age UK Tameside

Age UK has a Board of Trustees to monitor Age UK's strategic objectives. The CEO works closely with the Trustees to carry out the day-to-day running of Age UK. If you are passionate about promoting the wellbeing of older people in Tameside then we would like you to consider becoming an Age UK Trustee.

Tasks the volunteer will be required to do:

To attend board meetings 4 times a year
To take responsibility for overall governance of the charity
To make key decisions to enable the charity to grow and develop
To support the Chief Executive Officer

Training:

All Trustees will undertake an induction to the charity which includes the key areas of governance and trustee responsibilities as well as an overview of our work past and present and introduction to the CEO and Senior Team

Skill and Qualifications Required:

• Older people
• People with an understanding of the needs of Black Asian Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) communities
• People with a background in commerce and business
• People with fundraising experience
• People who understand the care sector
