Facilitated by KYP in Rochdale, this Network offers a space to make voices heard, share and exchange ideas, explore opportunities for collaboration and work together to influence policy change.
Membership
- BAME-led* voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations based in Rochdale
- Senior Leaders of BAME* heritage
Aims of the Network:
- To provide a collective voice and representation for Rochdale BAME-led VCSE organisations and BAME Leaders
- To promote the sharing of good practice, communication, peer support and partnership working for ethnic minority organisations
- To improve access and connectivity to opportunities by providing information and support directly to members
- To provide a forum for members to create collaborative partnerships (or signpost to other organisations)
- To provide leadership to member organisations to develop strategic direction and promote members interests through lobbying and advocacy at Rochdale and GM level
- To provide a vehicle for decision makers, commissioners and funders for consultation and channelling of resources
This network is open to any BAME-led voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations based in Rochdale and BAME individuals in Leadership roles.
*By BAME-led we mean: An organisation that exists primarily to serve the BAME community, or a section of that community, with decision making led by members of that community. We are continuing to use the abbreviation BAME as it is widely understood, but acknowledge many feel this term is inadequate and limiting. We will continue reviewing the use of this term and change as appropriate and agreed by our members.
