Have you had experience of radiotherapy? Would you like to help others by sharing your experiences?

Radiotherapy is just as important as chemotherapy in treating cancer patients but it’s less well-known as a modern and precise treatment. Greater Manchester has world-leading radiotherapy facilities, and researchers working tirelessly to find ways to improve treatments and reduce treatment side effects. NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre is inviting people in Oldham and the surrounding areas to help raise awareness of radiotherapy and research and how life-changing it can be, by telling your stories in your way.

If you or someone close to you has had radiotherapy, NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre would love you or your community group to join the storytelling workshops happening in Oldham libraries in January – March 2019. You don’t need any experience of writing or storytelling as it will have people who can help you tell your story through a way that works for you. To support, it can cover your travel costs or care expenses.

If you are interested please phone / text Emily Robinson for a chat on 0161 276 3215 / 07816446132 or email emily.robinson@mft.nhs.uk

It is currently trying to get in contact with individuals and community groups in and around Oldham to help develop the project and to highlight the opportunity to take part in telling their story.
