Free photography for Action Together members based in Oldham

Social media helps voluntary organisations to make emotional connections.

  • Text on a page can be great for getting information across, but images, videos and human reactions are what really bring the scope of your charity work to life.
  • Potential volunteers are more likely to get involved if they can picture the people they will help.
  • Donations will be more forthcoming if people can identify with the human angle – the idea that it could help somebody just like them/their mum/their child/their pet/their friend.

Open Shutters have received funding to help Oldham voluntary organisations tell their stories with free photography sessions to boost your website, social media or display boards.

There is no catch – there is no hard sale at the end of the session.

We are a newly formed CIC created to provide photography in, and for the benefit of, the community. As a result of our experience of working with community groups and not-for-profit organisations, we know there is a need for quality photography, but organisations are not able to fund it and don’t have the skills to do it themselves.

We can attend group meetings and events and take photographs of your activities. We can also take headshots/portraits of group members (e.g. committee members) that can be used on yur website and social media. We will review any photographs you already have and advise on how they can be best used (and, if digital, improved) and can provide training in basic photographic skills (e.g. composition, lighting, phone and camera controls).  We can also advise and assist with the purchase of any photographic equipment and help with getting photographs printed and framed for display.

This offer is open to all Oldham based VCFSE organisations that are Action Together members.
