The recently published Adult Complex Safeguarding and Exploitation Strategy set out Oldham’s understanding of adolescent and adult exploitation and how partners will work together to improve the lives of those at risk of exploitation.
A key priority set out in the strategy is to ensure consistent practice across the system. In order to facilitate this, the Adults and Children's Safeguarding Boards and the Community Safety Partnership have worked together to produce new practitioner resources. Practitioner guidance in relation to Cuckooing and a Practitioner toolkit in relation to Modern Slavery including Criminal Exploitation can be found below. Both documents include referral pathways and reference to wider public interest issues when concerns about exploitation arise:
Partners have also produced two supporting 7-Minute Briefings about Modern Slavery and Cuckooing.
