Aims/priorities: The funding is intended to support projects to improve the health, wellbeing and financial literacy of people who are experiencing homelessness.
Who can apply? UK registered charities may apply for a:
- Small Grant if their turnover is less than £1 million. They can be working anywhere in the UK.
- Large Grant if their annual turnover is £5 million or less and they are based in or delivering work in Yorkshire and/or the North East of England.
Grant amount: Two levels of funding are available:
- Small Grants of between £250 and £1,000.
- Large Grants of between £25,000 and £100,000. The grant can be a one year grant, or split across two or three years.

Small grants application window for 2025:
- 20 December 2024 to 10 February 2025 for consideration at the 26 March 2025 meeting.
- 11 February 2025 to 9 May 2025 for consideration at the 25 June 2025 meeting.
- 10 May 2025 to 11 August 2025 for consideration at the 1 October 2025 meeting.
- 12 August 2025 to 3 November 2025 for consideration at the 3 December 2025 meeting.
A two stage application process has been introduced for large grants in 2025:
- The first stage is to email an expression of interest to foundation@leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk. The details of what should be written are available on the Foundation's website.
- Eligible groups will be invited to submit a full application form and a link to the form will be sent by email.
Large grants application window for expressions of interest 2025:
- 20 December 2024 to 10 February 2025 for consideration at the 26 March 2025 meeting.
- 11 February 2025 to 9 May 2025 for consideration at the 25 June 2025 meeting.
- 10 May 2025 to 11 August 2025 for consideration at the 1 October 2025 meeting.
- 3 December 2025 - applications closed
