Groundwork is now recruiting 19 to 24 year-olds to its traineeships in construction and youth work, starting in January, 2019.

Key dates:

Thursday 10 January at 9am - Construction Programme Open Day

Monday 14 January at 9am - Construction Programme Start Date

Monday 21 January at 9am - Youth Work Traineeship Start Date

These 15 week, full-time courses are a great way for 19 to 24 year-olds to meet new people, improve confidence, develop new skills, gain an accredited qualification and get valuable experience in construction or youth work. The courses include:

  • Over 100 hours of high quality supervised work experience
  • A Level 1 qualification in the chosen subject
  • Access to a range of accredited training (e.g. Health and Safety, Safeguarding)
  • English and Maths tuition to improve the learners’ ability
  • At least 25 hours tailored employability support
  • Travel expenses
  • Free uniform or PPE

The construction traineeship also includes the opportunity to take the CSCS card test, enabling learners to work on site.

Teaching takes place at the Groundwork building in Oldham, with work experience on projects across local boroughs.

The trainees report feeling more confident, more employable and more positive about the future after completing a Groundwork Traineeship.
