International Men's Day is an annual event celebrated on 19 November, which aims to raise awareness about men's issues and promote gender equality.
There are three core themes for International Men’s Day in the UK which are used every year to help maximise participation:
- Making a positive difference to the wellbeing and lives of men and boys
- Raising awareness and/or funds for charities supporting men and boys’ wellbeing
- Promoting a positive conversation about men, manhood and masculinity
These themes are designed to help more organisations, and people, consider what action they can take by addressing some of the issues that affect men and boys.
At Action Together, we believe in the strength and impact of our communities. Across Oldham, Rochdale, and Tameside, our members are doing fantastic work to support men’s mental health, and we want to celebrate that. We also want to ensure that men know where they can seek help, guidance, and support.
Below we've compiled a snapshot of some of the support from across our communities, and some of the specific events being held this International Men's Day 2024 too.
