The Greater Manchester Combined Authority is currently developing a Good Employment Charter, which aims to help employers reach excellent employment standards. It believes this is win-win for employers and employees, as employers who are best at engaging and supporting their teams are most successful.

It is also working with the Government to develop a Local Industrial Strategy, which will be a joint plan for ensuring good jobs and growth across our city-region. It will set out how we can build on our unique strengths and opportunities to ensure we have exciting employment opportunities in growing industries.

The Greater Manchester Combined Authority want the Employment Charter and the Local Industrial Strategy to be based on the views and needs of employers, employees, community and voluntary sector groups, business leaders, investors – and indeed anyone who is interested in the future prosperity and growth of our city-region.

Both surveys can be accessed at: www.gmconsult.org . The closing date for the Good Employment Charter is 18 November, and the Local Industrial Strategy is 25 November.
