Hate Crime Awareness Training

Tameside Council Community Safety have commissioned Stop Hate UK to deliver a couple of Hate Crime Awareness training sessions on Tuesday 22 January 2019. The training will take place in the Newton Suite, Hyde Town Hall, Corporation Street, Hyde, SK14 1AL, and there will be two sessions, one in the morning 10am -12pm and one in the afternoon 1pm – 3pm. The training will cover:

  • Historic context of hate crime 
  • Personal identity and diversity competence 
  • Diversity and language 
  • Key definitions – hate crime strands (Including other targeted identity e.g. alternative subculture) 
  • Hate incidents and hate crimes 
  • Legislation (criminal and civil) 
  • Incident, crimes and other forms of discrimination 
  • Impact of hate crimes on victims, families and communities 
  • Understanding barriers to reporting 
  • Under reporting and how to support and encourage people to report

Places are limited and will be on a first come first served basis
