Drawing upon the experience of the Glasgow Poverty Truth Commission and the Leeds Poverty Truth Commission, we aim to ensure that people who have experienced poverty first-hand are at the heart of how the town thinks and acts in tackling poverty and inequality.
In Partnership with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation as well as the National team that has launched this work nationwide, we are in the very first stages of exploring what this could look like for the area of Tameside.
We are having a meeting on Monday 20 August at 10am-12pm at Ashton Old Baths, Stamford Street West, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 7TW. We would love it if you could come and imagine together what this could look like in this area.
Poverty affects everyone and your contribution would be invaluable at the early stages and would help us in exploring some of the ways to begin this conversation.
We do hope you can join us!
In the meantime, here is a link to our latest commission just concluding in Salford for further info.
