CABWI Lifelong Learning and Development Fund

Background: The CABWI Lifelong Learning and Development Fund is being provided by CABWI, the awarding body for the water and utilities industries, and is managed by the CABWI charity.

Aims/Priorities: The fund supports small charities with projects that promote lifelong learning and development that enables people to enter the labour market or gain additional skills to further develop their career.

The fund aims to:

  • Work directly with young people who are either NEET (not in employment, education or training) or at risk of becoming NEET to improve their access to employment and the labour market.
  • Reach and work with individuals with complex barriers to employment, enabling them to move closer to or into employment, including (but not restricted to) ex-service personnel and ex-offenders.
  • Increase the life skills of people so that they may further develop their careers, with a particular focus on the water, utilities and construction industries.

Who can apply? 

  • Your organisation must be a registered charity.
  • It must be based in, and deliver its services in the UK.
  • It must work directly with young people and adults who are not in employment, training, or education.

Grant Amount: Organisations with an income of:

  • Between £231,000 and £1 million can apply for grants of up to £35,000.
  • Up to £231,000 may apply for a maximum of 15% of their previous year's turnover.

Grants are available for a maximum of 12 months

Application Process: This fund will reopen to applications on 6 January 2025.

CABWI is holding a webinar for potential applicants on 8 January 2025 (noon). Applicants must register for the webinar via email. To register, send your name and the name of your organisation to grants@cabwi.org.uk , with webinar in the subject heading.
