Thank You Day took place on Sunday 7 July 2024, an occasion that brings together millions of people across the UK to celebrate and give thanks to those that go above and beyond for us. We at Action Together also wanted to join the celebrations and take the opportunity to recognise the contribution of our much valued team and host an extra special Thank You Day at Alexandra Park.

All staff members were invited to spend the afternoon together and take time off work to wind down and relax at the Thank You Day celebration event.

Staff were able to participate in activities such as rounders, park games, a wellbeing walk (led by a member of our Social Prescribing team), orienteering, drawing, a quiz, or simply choose to just sit in the sun and have a chat with their peers while they enjoyed a picnic buffet!

We wanted to ensure all staff felt valued and included. Staff were encouraged to get in touch about dietary requirements, suggest activities that were inclusive, and also highlight any barriers that may prevent others from joining (such as childcare or transport) so that these could all be taken into consideration when planning and proper adjustments could be made for those who wanted to attend.

Thank You postcards were given to staff with a gracious message from Liz Windsor-Welsh, Action Together CEO, extending her personal thanks and appreciation,

"I see lots of the amazing work that you do, but also know that for every one thing I see, there’s also many, many other amazing things that I don’t.

I know there’s a lot of hard work that goes into making each and every one of these pieces of work happen, and that most of the time we only even see a fraction of that hard work in what each other does.

So, for all of it, and much more, I would genuinely like to thank you. I hope you feel appreciated for your commitment and contribution to Action Together."

Blank postcards were also available for staff to write special thank you messages to each other.

Awards and gifts were given to staff to recognise long services of 10 and 15 years with Action Together.

The Thank You Day celebration event was a wonderful way for staff to connect with each other and for Action Together to highlight our immense appreciation.
