Youth Endowment Fund - Themed Project Round

Aims/priorities: The Themed Projects rounds aim to explore an area of interest linked to one of the themes identified by the YEF to provide a focus for the knowledge it wants to build about what interventions will work to help create the conditions to keep child and young people safe and prevent them from being drawn into violence.

Support is available for organisations in England and Wales for projects invited under the following themes:

  • A safe, positive place to learn
  • Another chance
  • A supportive home
  • A safe neighbourhood
  • Social skills and good mental health
  • Adults they trust
  • Opportunities
  • A fair society

The current grant round - Psychological Therapies - focuses on supporting projects that deliver talking therapies to children and young people who are at risk of becoming involved in crime and violence (known as secondary prevention) or those already involved in the youth justice system (known as tertiary prevention).

The funding is for projects in England and/or Wales, that aim to treat psychological and emotional problems for children and young people at an individual level through one-to-one, group, online or phone delivery.

Who can apply? Applications can be made by any registered organisation including registered charities, companies, statutory bodies and community interest companies (CICs) supporting support children and young people in England and/or Wales. Partnership applications are accepted provided there is a lead organisation and the partners work as one entity.

Grant amount: Grants are at the discretion of the funders.

For the Psychological Therapies round, it is expected that up to £3.5 million will be spent with two to three projects being funded, depending on how well applications meet the criteria.

The maximum project delivery time is expected to be 24 months though projects that can deliver within a shorter period are preferred.

Application process: Workshop will be held on

  • Tuesday 16 April 10:00am

Registration is required and can be done on the YEF website. Groups that miss the workshops will be able to access a recording which will be posted on the YEF website after the session.

Grant applications are made via the online application form that is available on the YEF website.
